Exam Remediation & Re-Test Policy

This policy is provided in writing at the start of every course so all students are fully informed before training begins.

1Passing Standard

A minimum score of 75% is required to pass the final comprehensive exam. Students must complete all required lessons and module quizzes before the final exam is unlocked.

2First Failed Attempt — Mandatory Review Period

If a student does not pass the final exam on the first attempt, they are not permitted to re-test immediately. The following remediation process applies:

  • The student will receive a detailed score breakdown identifying the topic areas where they fell short.
  • The student must review the lessons covering those topics before a re-test is authorized.
  • The instructor will review the student's performance and confirm readiness before unlocking the re-test.

3Remediation Focus Areas

Remediation is targeted to the modules where the student underperformed. Common focus areas include:

Legal Powers & Limitations of Security Officers
Use of Force & Defensive Tactics
Emergency Response Procedures
Report Writing & Documentation
Ethics & Professional Conduct
NJ SORA Regulations & Compliance

4Re-Test Opportunities

AttemptConditionOutcome if Failed
1st AttemptAfter completing all lessonsMandatory remediation review required
2nd AttemptAfter instructor-confirmed remediationSecond mandatory review + instructor consultation
3rd AttemptAfter instructor consultation & approvalCourse may need to be repeated; instructor discretion applies

Students who do not pass after three attempts will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by the instructor. Additional coaching or a course re-enrollment may be recommended.

Student Acknowledgment

By enrolling in this course, students confirm they have read, understand, and agree to this Exam Remediation & Re-Test Policy. This policy is also presented for acknowledgment within the training portal before coursework begins.
