1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to CPS Training ("we," "our," or "us"), operator of the SORA Training platform at cpsprosoratraining.org. By accessing or using our website, enrolling in courses, or purchasing any training services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our platform or services.

2. Description of Services

We provide state-mandated Security Officer Registration Act (SORA) training courses, including:

• Initial 24-hour SORA certification training
• 8-hour SORA renewal training
• Student Game Plan (SGP) portal access
• Law Enforcement (LE) training registration
• Instructor platform subscriptions
• Group and corporate training programs

Completion of our training courses does not guarantee issuance of a SORA license. Official licenses are issued by the New Jersey State Police (NJSP) after instructor submission and successful completion of all state requirements, including a background check.

3. Enrollment and Eligibility

By enrolling in our courses, you represent and warrant that:

• You are at least 18 years of age or have legal guardian consent
• All information provided during registration is accurate and complete
• You meet the eligibility requirements for SORA certification as set forth by the NJ State Police
• You are not prohibited from obtaining a security officer license under applicable law

4. Payments and Fees

Course fees are displayed on our platform at the time of enrollment. By purchasing a course:

• You authorize us to charge the displayed fee through our payment processor (Stripe)
• All payments are processed securely through Stripe; we do not store your full credit card information
• Course access is granted upon successful payment confirmation
• Instructor subscription plans are billed on a recurring basis until cancelled

5. Refund and Cancellation Policy

We understand that circumstances may change. Our refund and cancellation policy is as follows:

• Initial Training: Cancellations made at least 24 hours before the scheduled session are eligible for a full refund. A $30 cancellation fee applies to cancellations within 24 hours of the session.
• Renewal Training: Cancellations prior to course access are eligible for a full refund. No refunds are issued after course access has been granted.
• Digital Content (SGP, online courses): Due to the nature of digital content, no refunds are issued after access has been granted.
• Instructor Subscriptions: Subscriptions may be cancelled at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time.
• Law Enforcement Registration: Refund eligibility is determined on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us for assistance.

6. Course Completion and Certification

• Certificates of completion are issued only to students who meet all course requirements, including lesson completion, quiz/exam passing scores, and attendance requirements
• Final exam scores must meet or exceed the passing threshold (75%) to receive a certificate
• Exam integrity is monitored. Violations including tab switching, using external resources, or attempting to bypass exam controls may result in automatic exam submission, disqualification, or certificate revocation
• Certificates may be revoked if obtained through fraudulent means or if training records are found to be falsified
• Official SORA licenses are issued solely by the NJ State Police; our certificates confirm training completion only

7. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Share your account credentials or course access with others
• Attempt to copy, redistribute, or reproduce course materials without written permission
• Use the platform for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose
• Attempt to disrupt, hack, or compromise platform security
• Provide false or misleading information during registration or training
• Use automated tools to scrape or extract course content

Violations may result in immediate account suspension, course access revocation, and potential legal action.

8. Intellectual Property

All course content, training materials, videos, quizzes, certificates, and platform design are the intellectual property of CPS Training and are protected by copyright and other applicable laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our materials without prior written consent. Unauthorized use may result in legal action.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

Our platform and services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times. Training completion does not guarantee employment or licensure. You are responsible for verifying all state licensing requirements independently.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CPS Training shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or employment opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of our platform or services. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the course or service giving rise to the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CPS Training, its officers, instructors, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your use of the platform, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

12. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, without prior notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent activity, or misused the platform. Upon termination, your access to course materials and certificates may be revoked.

13. Privacy

Our handling of your personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

14. Third-Party Services

Our platform integrates with third-party services including Stripe (payments), Google Calendar (session scheduling), and the NJ State Police SORA portal (licensing). We are not responsible for the practices or policies of these third parties. Your use of their services is subject to their respective terms and policies.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts located in New Jersey.
